Jobs In Automotive Sector

It was declared by the British government that they want to make growth in the electric and hybrid cars market. Geoff Hoon, the secretary Transport wishes to have environmentally friendly vehicles to be used more widely as part of a plan to reduce carbon emissions in the UK.

Moreover he has announced that £100 million will be pumped into the automotive engineering sector to aid achieve this goal and move which is expected to create 10,000 engineering jobs UK. This amount will be utilized on research, development and manufacturing, as well as demonstrating electric cars to members of the public across Britain. Mr Hoon stated:

"If we can inspire more people to use them, it will help us to make a positive impact on climate change."

He also said that developing this rising industry should create new engineer jobs and secure existing employment in the UK. This proclamation concurs with the first ever national low-carbon vehicle event in the UK, which is happening today in Bedfordshire.

Engineers are highly in demand these days not only in automotive sector but also in other sectors like civil engineering, software engineering etc. A rise in engineering recruitment is also seen this year that’s good news for UK engineering graduates and professionals.
